Construct is a catch-all artifact creature type used for artificial life-forms powered by mechanical means. [1] Constructs are the Magic equivalent of a robot. Perhaps the term automaton would be more applicable. They come in a wide variety, but often imitate organical lifeforms.

The first creature to bear the type was Bronze Bomshell in Dissension, though a lot of cards from Antiquities were issued errata in the Grand Creature Type Update to become Constructs as well.

Notes

  1. As opposed to golems which are created through magic, typically with powerstones being used to provide them with energy. However, there is some degree of ambiguity between these terms in the game.
