Go to the Gatecrash Prerelease and experience the newest Magic: The Gathering set a week before it goes on sale!

The Gatecrash Prerelease presents players with a special opportunity to open a Guild Prerelease Pack and join their favorite guild from the Gatecrash expansion. There are five Guild Prerelease Packs to choose from: Orzhov, Dimir, Gruul, Boros, and Simic.

Prereleases are run by local stores all over the world! Check out our tournament locator to find a Prerelease event near you. Contact your local store to confirm the event venue location. What Happens There?

When you show up at a Prerelease you will be given the opportunity to play with the newest cards in the following formats:

Sealed Deck — Each player receives one Gatecrash Guild Prerelease Pack to use for building a deck.

Two-Headed Giant Sealed — Each team of two players receives two Gatecrash Guild Prerelease Packs to use for building their decks. (One Guild Prerelease Pack per player, players do not need to choose the same guild)

Each Guild Prerelease Pack contains items designed specifically for the chosen guild.

   5 Gatecrash booster packs
   1 Guild Booster Pack
   1 Promo Card
   1 Achievement Card
   1 Spindown™ Life Counter
   1 Letter from the Guildmaster
   1 Guild Symbol Sticker

For this event, players may use the promo card included with the Guild Prerelease Pack in their tournament deck.

The prize pool, for each Gatecrash Prerelease Tournament will include two Gatecrash booster packs per player. Contact your local Prerelease Tournament organizer for specific entry fee, prize payout, and event information. What Else Can I Do?

In addition to the main Prerelease Tournament event, some locations may offer open dueling.

Open Dueling — Open Dueling players each receive:

1 Gatecrash Intro Pack or Booster Battle Pack if Intro Packs are not available in your region's local language.

Open Dueling players use their Intro Pack or Booster Battle Pack to play against each other, as well as Prerelease tournament players who are between matches. All players should be encouraged to help teach Open Dueling participants how to play Magic. Have Questions?
