Red Deck Wins, a variant of the Sligh archetype, is generally used to refer to a red deck that uses burn and cheap, aggressive creatures. The deck was invented by Dan Paskins and is often abbreviated to "RDW".

RDW decks generally use small and cheap creatures on early turns to quickly diminish the opponent's life total. If the creatures are not enough, burn spells are used to finish the opponent off. The burn spells also double to remove blockers. RDW decks differ from Sligh in that they don't play Land Destruction cards (as Land Destruction cards are typically weak in Modern Standard formats). The deck generally attempts to use all of its available mana during every single turn and to win the game somewhere around turn 5–6.
